Nut Awareness
We Are a NUT Aware School!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT NUT ALLERGIES!
As a school community we are committed to the health and safety of our students. Some of our students have a type of food allergy that can be particularly serious and in some cases life-threatening. For this reason we have a "nut aware" environment at our school.
Part of our “nut awareness” requires that all nut products are identified when they enter the building. Nut products may only be consumed in the cafeteria and then only at designated tables.
We ask that you be very aware of any items brought into our school which:
- may contain nuts
- may have been processed or manufactured in a facility which uses/contains nuts
A note about treats: Before you order cupcakes, make cupcakes, or bring in any other baked goods for an event we ask that all items are brought to the school nurse so the ingredients can be checked. (As an aside, you might want to contact the nurse before going ahead with any baking or purchasing any items.) All items approved by the nurse will receive a "Nurse Approved" sticker.
If you have any questions, please contact our school nurse, Mrs. Kalish, at 914-937-3600 x2217 or email her at hkalish@blindbrook.org
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
